Make it Matter Monday
Come see the safari lights at the OKC Zoo before they’re gone.
Make It Matter Monday
Remember that today is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and the annual MLK Day Parade steps off downtown at 2 p.m. Now, here’s how to keep that spirit going for the week of Jan. 19 with one way to play, one to give back and one to learn:
PLAY: Free Craft Fest
Saturday, Jan. 24 | 9am–5pm | Downtown Library | FREE
Get creative at the Downtown Library’s Craft Fest, a full day of hands-on crafting and maker-style activities. This event is especially great for teens and adults who love learning new skills or just want an excuse to make something with their hands. Get details here.
GIVE BACK: City Rescue Mission
City Rescue Mission meets the needs of people experiencing homelessness in the OKC metro through shelter, meals, recovery programs and wrap-around support. Families can serve together, and kids (working alongside adults) are welcome in most roles, including sorting donations and serving meals. Learn more here.
LEARN: American Pigeon Museum
Open Fridays & Saturdays | FREE
This weekend brings the National Pigeon Association Grand Show to town – which means it’s a great time to remind you that Oklahoma City is home to the delightfully quirky.
American Pigeon Museum
This museum is free and incredibly engaging and educational for kids and adults alike. See (and pet) live pigeons and learn about a dozen different pigeon breeds. Walk through exhibits on pigeon racing, a sport with deep tradition. And discover how homing pigeons helped deliver messages during World Wars I and II. If you’ve never been, this is your sign to plan your visit!
